This cherished recipe has grown with me over the years and remains a favorite. Sambal, a classic chili sauce from Southeast Asia, is a must-have in Malaysia and Indonesia. No Malaysian meal feels complete without it—whether it’s fried noodles (mee goreng), rice (nasi goreng), kari puffs, or chicken satay. Bursting with bright lemongrass and ginger, rich umami, and a cheeky spicy kick from Thai chilies, it’s perfect as a cooking boost or a zesty condiment. 

Shake well and refrigerate after opening.
